SuDS Designs conducted a Flood Risk Assessment for a nine-unit development on a greenfield site in Tamworth, previously refused planning approval. Located in Flood Zone 3 and adjacent to a flood defence structure, the project required extensive collaboration with the Environment Agency to protect their assets while allowing development.

The floor levels of the properties were raised above the design flood level to ensure protection in case of a flood defence breach. Additionally, the surface water drainage system includes below-ground attenuation capable of handling up to a 1 in 100 year storm event plus climate change allowance. This careful planning and engineering ensured both compliance and safety for the new development.
